Heidi Lynne Weeks is a graduate of Studio 58 and John Abbott Professional Theatre programs. In addition to being an experienced actor, Heidi is also a licensed boat skipper for vessels less than five tons. For several summers in Vancouver, she combined her passions and wrote, performed in and captained a series of shows aboard the Aquabus Ferries. Then in 2007, Weeks moved back to dry land when she had the opportunity in Toronto to collaborate with artists from three different provinces on a show Blind Submission. Heidi’s piece was based on a true story of the life she saved while employed on boats in Vancouver. The play was dramaturged and directed by Liesl Lafferty. Heidi also worked with Liesl on the Canadian premiere of Tape and on Lafferty’s new script Canary, which premiered at the Tarragon ExtraSpace in the 2009 Toronto Fringe Festival. Heidi’s latest performances in Montreal include Norm Foster’s romantic comedy Storm Warning at Hudson Village Theatre, where a reviewer wrote, “Waters’ (now Weeks) comic timing, reminiscent of a modern Lucille Ball.” Also, she had the opportunity to show her dramatic range last year in Speak Truth to Power, a potent political piece, by Ariel Dorfman. Heidi is a Vancouver TheatreSports League Alumni and she is currently in Without Annette, a troupe with whom she performed in Chicago on The Second City Skybox Stage and at Ernie Butlers Comedy Nest. She also has performed with On The Spot, Long Lost Laugh Pals, The Jam and Sunday Night Improv at Theatre Ste Catherine. Heidi has been in several short independent films. She played the lead in both Snip Cut where she played a wacky hairdresser and in Purg which was selected as a finalist in 2009 Young Cuts. Heidi has also worked on Immortal and appears in many television and radio commercials.
